Co-Chairman PPP President Asif Ali Zardari today issued directives to the Party rank and file asking them to celebrate Eid with simplicity and austerity and donate the hides of sacrificial animals and make generous donations for the rehabilitation of the poor flood victims in the far flung areas.

 A communication conveyed by the Political Secretary Ms. Fauzia Habib to all the provincial presidents and senior office bearers of the Party, quoted the President as saying that the huge damage and displacement caused by floods had left large multitudes with nothing to rejoice and celebrate.  For any celebration and happiness to be genuine it must be shared with many.  The Party workers should therefore celebrate the Eid in a subdued and sober manner with thoughts and actions focused on helping the less fortunate ones particularly the poor victims of the recent floods.. He directed party leaders and workers to visit the flood victims as well as the families of martyrs and spend time with them so that they don’t feel alone at this hour of distress.

The President said that the whole concept of offering sacrifices revolves around giving to and sharing with others and to extend a helping hand to the needy and the distressed. The poor flood victims continue to suffer and it is our moral as well as religious duty to step forward and share with them the bounties on this Eid day and extend all possible help and assistance to them, he said.
